Overview
Freezing your child’s credit isn’t difficult, though it is a bit annoying.
You’ll need to send a physical letter to the 3 main credit bureaus that proves that:
- Your child is a U.S. citizen.
- Your child is under 16.
- Your are an appropriate person to freeze their credit (parent or legal guardian).
This process will freeze their credit until they’re 16 years old, at which point they should be able to freeze their own credit through the normal online processes.
