To freeze a minor’s credit with Equifax ↗ - one of the three major credit bureaus - follow this process.

Gather documents

You’ll need the following documents for Equifax:

1 copy - Your government issued ID (Passport, Driver’s Licence, etc)

1 copy - Your child’s birth certificate

1 copy - Your child’s Social Security card

1 copy - Completed request form

Not the birth parent (or not listed on the birth certificate)?

If you are the child’s legal guardian (not birth parent), also include a copy of a court document naming you their legal guardian.
